Dear Clifton United Parents, Guardians and Players,
As the 2019/20 season is now over, it's time to start preparing for next season. We hope to be able to start the season at the start of September 2020 as normal, and there are a few things you need to be aware of and things you will need to do to help this to happen.
Your team manager should have been in touch with you to let you know about registering and paying a deposit for next season using our online registration and payments system.
Given the uncertainty surrounding plans for next season, we have agreed to register players and take a £30 deposit per player. Once we have greater certainty about what we will be doing to restart football, we will finalise subs levels and ask you to pay the balance prior to the start of the season, whenever that is. We expect subs levels to be in line with this season, and are hoping to provide a small reduction to players given this season was curtailed.
Whilst the club will have saved money by not needing pitches or referees for the last few weeks, we will not see the income from our annual tournament which usually gives us a buffer against increased costs and additional expenses during the season. We are a ‘not for profit’ club, run by volunteers and aim to provide the best coaching and facilities in the area and we expect this to continue once we restart next season.
If you have any trouble paying or have any queries about registration or plans for next season, please contact your team manager as soon as possible.
Training and home matches will mostly be based at Clifton College Sports Ground in Abbots Leigh. However, Saturday morning training and some matches will take place on the 3G pitch at Redland Green School during the spring term for U7 to U11s. Full details of training locations and times will be confirmed by your team manager.

We have an online shop for the purchase of new kit at http://cufc.macronstorebristol.co.uk/. You can order the core kit of orange shirt, black shorts and orange socks and optional items of rain jackets, hoodies and beanies. The shop is being run by an external company on behalf of Clifton United and the club do not receive any payment from orders placed with them.
Players who currently have shirt, shorts and socks that fit them should continue to wear their kit until they grow out of it.
If your player needs new or replacement kit there you will need to buy from the online kit shop. Please check with your team manager if a number is required on the reverse of the shirt. Please order by the end of July for delivery to Clifton United at Beggar Bush Lane at the start of September.
Please can we ask that you put your child's name in any CUFC kit so that we can return it to you as soon as possible if we find it – thank you.
Pitches and football boots
Please note that the 3G pitch at Clifton College has been recognised as an FA approved pitch. If you are lucky enough to train on that surface, moulded studs are best, however full metal studs as well as astro trainers are acceptable. Please discuss with your team manager if you are unsure about what to wear.
Supporting your club
As encouraging and supportive parents you are all, of course, hugely important to a thriving club. As a Committee we are incredibly grateful for the time (and significant logistical endeavour) you devote to making sure your child turns out each weekend. However, we are always looking for more help and here are some great ways you can add more to CUFC:
Team Management – If you are interested in helping with the coaching and assisting with the organization of squads we would love to hear from you. The club will even pay for you to attain the prestigious FA Coaching Level 1 qualification!
Sponsorship – If you’ve got a business to advertise and are looking to support your community, the club provides great promotion opportunities. From kit to event sponsorship, we’d love to get your backing and help you get your message across. Please speak to your team manager if you would like to discuss sponsorship.
We’re really looking forward to seeing you all at Clifton United. Get ready for another great season ahead!
