Dear Clifton United Players and Parents,
As the 2018/19 season is now over, it's time to start preparing for next season. So that we can all be ready to start the season at the end of August, there are a few things you need to be aware of and things you will need to do.
Your team manager should have been in touch with you to let you know about registering and paying for next season using our online registration and payments system. It’s important you register and pay your subs before the season begins to avoid any delay in being able to play from the first day of the season. Don't forget that U12 to U16 will also need to complete appropriate league registration documents, which your manager can let you have.
Player subs for the 2019 / 20 season, which need to be paid when you register, are as follows:
- U7: £190
- U8: £190
- U9: £210
- U10: £210
- U11: £210
- U12: £210
- U13: £210
- U14: £210
- U16 Eagles: £210
- U16 Hawks: £250
There is a sibling discount of £10 per player with a sibling also playing for Clifton United in the same season.
All subs are to be paid as a single payment at time of registration using the online payment system. Your team manager will confirm the deadline for this, but certainly no later than 30th June 2019 for U8 and above and for U12 - U16 deadline is typically much sooner. U7 registrations will start in June. If subs aren't paid before the deadline, we reserve the right to open up to applications from our waiting lists and so players risk losing their places.
Any player with subs owing when the new season begins will also be excluded from training and matches until payment is received. Please note that we are unable to register any player with outstanding subs from previous seasons for the 2019 – 2020 season.
If you have any trouble paying or have any queries about registration or plans for next season, please contact your team manager as soon as possible.
Training and home matches will mostly be based at Clifton College Sports Ground in Abbots Leigh. However, Saturday morning training and some matches will take place on the 3G pitch at Redland Green School during the spring term for U7 to U11s. Full details of training locations and times will be confirmed by your team manager.
Term dates for 2019/20
U7 to U11 Saturdays only for all training and matches
- Term 1: 7 Sep - 14 Dec with no training Oct 26th, Nov 2nd and 21st, 28th Dec
- Term 2: 04 Jan - 28 Mar with no training 15th or 22rd Feb, 4th 11th or 18th Apr (using 3G at RGS not CCSL)
- Term 3: 25 Apr - 20 Jun with no training 9th, 23rd or 30th May. Last training on 20th Jun
U12 to U16 Midweek training and AYL league matches on Sundays
- Term 1: 28 Aug - 18 Dec with no training 30th Oct, 25th Dec or 1st Jan
- Term 2: 8 Jan - 1 Apr with no training 19th Feb. Last training on 1st Apr
Training and match times and locations will be confirmed by your team manager.
We have made some changes to the way we manage player’s kit for the coming seasons. We have created an online shop for the purchase of new kit at http://cufc.macronstorebristol.co.uk/ including the core kit of orange shirt, black shorts and orange socks and optional items of rain jackets, hoodies and beanies. The shop is being run by an external company on behalf of Clifton United and the club do not receive any payment from orders placed with them.
Players who currently have shirt, shorts and socks that fit them should continue to wear their kit until they grow out of it.
If your player needs new or replacement kit there are two options:
1. Buy replacement new kit from the online kit shop. Please check with your team manager if a number is required on the reverse of the shirt. Please order by the end of July for delivery to Clifton United at Beggar Bush Lane at the start of September.
When your player grows out of their kit they have the option to keep it or sell it back to the club at one of the kits sales or by contacting the kit manager: Shirts at £5 and Shorts at £5.
If your player leaves the club they can return their kit to the team manager to be used by a replacement player.
Please can we ask that you put your child's name in any CUFC kit so that we can return it to you as soon as possible if we find it – thank you.
Pitches and football boots
Please note that the 3G pitch at Clifton College has been recognised as an FA approved pitch. If you are lucky enough to train on that surface, moulded studs are best, however full metal studs as well as astro trainers are acceptable. Please discuss with your team manager if you are unsure about what to wear.
Supporting your club
As encouraging and supportive parents you are all, of course, hugely important to a thriving club. As a Committee we are incredibly grateful for the time (and significant logistical endeavour) you devote to making sure your child turns out each weekend. However, we are always looking for more help and here are some great ways you can add more to CUFC:
Team Management – If you are interested in helping with the coaching and assisting with the organization of squads we would love to hear from you. The club will even pay for you to attain the prestigious FA Coaching Level 1 qualification!
